Customer Reviews for Custom Furniture Design & Restoration
Ryan McMeniman, President, Ward Hill Marketing on 1/22/2013 4:03:42 PM
Ken did an outstanding job on three matched bookcases for our company library. Made of oak, they give a professional look to our library, where some client meetings are held and where we want to put our best foot forward. Ken is very easy to work with, and sticks to his quote, which is reasonable to begin with. He takes careful measurements, and everything fits like a glove. If you ask him, he'll embed his beautiful logo in a discrete location on your piece, which is a small fan of wood tones. His love of wood shines through everything he does.

Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
I've been in business for 16 years
What is your primary product or service?
Provide solutions by creating furniture that fits a particular space, compliments or matches existing furniture or simply give form to a client's idea.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
In the house where I grew up, there was a particular space in the dining room that was totally useless. I helped my Dad disassemble a buffet cabinet that was no longer useful and modify it to fit that space as a functional built-in. We solved a problem through furniture design !
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I am a one man show, so the client works with only one person, from the design stage to delivery for the best personalized service. Sometimes the client knows exactly what they want and they just need me as a vehicle to create that idea and sometimes the client knows they have a problem and don't know how to solve it. So as a furniture maker, I have to know the difference, be a good listener, and sometimes an interior designer, so the end result is a solution that solves the problem and a client that is no less than 100% satisfied
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have a small shop, but have the capability and resources to tackle any project by the use of other vendors. In this way, I can keep my expenses and overhead low; a savings I can pass on to my clients.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, check, money order, PayPal and WePay
Which areas do you service?
I have the capability to ship anywhere in the continental US, however, custom Installations are limited to the local area for practicality reasons.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I am the owner / operator
What are your hours of operation?
I am a commissioned based business. I work as many hours as needed to meet a deadline. I don't have a store front with normal business hours. I do however welcome clients to visit my shop any time to discuss new designs or check the progress on their project.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The client loved my solution through furniture design in every way. It was a pleasure working with me from start to finish.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
IF I CAN'T BUILD IT, YOU DON'T NEED IT
